An advanced derivative of the F-5A Freedom Fighter, the F-5E Tiger II first took to the skies in August 1972. The second-generation fighter featured improved fuel capacity, more powerful engines, and a greater wing area than its predecessor. And, though production ended in 1987, a number remain active today: including with the Swiss Air Force, who still operates more than 25 of the Cold War aircraft.
Made by Hobby Master, this 1/72 scale, die cast model replicates an F-5E Tiger II with the Patrouille Suisse during the 2018 aerobatic season. It features colorful unit markings on the tail, engraved panel lines, a well-equipped cockpit with an opening canopy, removable crew figures, full weapons complement, optional-position landing gear, and a mid-flight display stand. Measures approximately 7¾" long with a 4½" wingspan.
