A Boeing-manufactured heavy bomber introduced in April of 1938, the B-17 Flying Fortress was chiefly operated by the USAAF in the European Theater during their strategic bombing campaign over Germany. Of the 1.5 million tons of weaponry dropped on Nazi-occupied territory during World War II, 640,000 came from B-17s. More than 12,000 units were manufactured and ten remain airworthy as of 2015.
One of the most premium replicas of the bomber available anywhere, this 1/32 scale kit — which features a wingspan of more than three feet! — comes with an impressive selection of details including three different see-through noses (for the "E" variant, single-gun "F" variant, and multi-gun "F" variant), an incredibly detailed interior (including not only a realistic cockpit but a cabin with a desk, chair, and weaponry), detailed cabin doors, a well-equipped bomb bay (with bombs), and authentic decals (including for the legendary "Memphis Belle"). Assembly required. Skill level 5. Measures approximately 27¾" long with a 39" wingspan.
