The first turbine-powered helicopter to enter service with the U.S. military, the UH-1 Huey was originally developed in the early '50s to meet Army standards for a medical evacuation and utility helicopter. Beginning production in March of 1960, its first combat came in Vietnam where it was also outfitted as a gunship equipped with rockets, grenade launchers, and machine guns.
Featuring a signature hornet of the 116th Attack Helicopter Company draped over the front end, this 1/100 scale plastic kit replicating a UH-1H gunship also comes with open side doors, full weapons complement (including guns and cannons), a free-spinning main and rear rotor, a well-equipped interior, and authentic 1967 markings.
