Developed as a successor to the KV series of tanks, the "JS" family — named in honor of Joseph Stalin, and also known as "IS" — was introduced in April of 1944. Incredibly, the series of heavy tanks served around the world until 1995. During World War II, it was equipped with heavy enough armor to defeat the German Panthers and Tigers, and featured prominently during the final victorious Battle of Berlin.
Take home your own JS-2, the first in the tank series, with this 1/72 scale, Hobby Master, die cast model replicating a vehicle used by the 88th Guards Heavy Brigade at the end of World War II. It features finely textured surfaces, a detailed and rotating 122mm turret, realistic tracks, plenty of simulated accessories, a removable display stand with a clear plastic cover, and authentic markings. Measures approximately 5¼" long.
