A 1966 British war film, The Blue Max — adapted from a novel of the same name by Jack D. Hunter — follows Corporal Bruno Stachel of the German Luftstreitkräfte during the First World War. The cold-hearted aviator pilots his Pfalz D.III on numerous missions for which his only joy seems to be personal glory.
This 1/32 scale kit is a replica of the Pfalz D.III biplane fighter able to be constructed in three different versions: with historical, film, or novel markings. It also features a fully outfitted cockpit interior, a Mercedes D.III engine (with upper engine fairings and cylinder banks), subtle fabric-over-frame effects, machine gun receivers and muzzles, an ammunition magazine, numerous photo-etched parts, and two figures (including Stachel). Assembly required. Skill level 3. Measures approximately 8½" long with an 11½" wingspan.
